Thank your authors

I've had a couple of really nice notes in the last couple of months. People getting in touch to say they liked something I'd written.

This is an incredibly pleasant feeling and it doesn't happen very often.

And every time it happens I'm reminded that I should do it more myself. Most authors/writers have tiny audiences. They get very little feedback. And I know, from my own experience, and from talking to other people, a little bit of positive feedback goes a very long way.

So yesterday, very blithely, I pledged on tiktok that I was going to reach out and thank three authors for something they'd written. That very day.

And then I didn't, because actually, it's quite hard. I couldn't quite bring to mind things that I'd read that I liked and then I worried about contact details etc. And so I didn't do it.

Instead, though, I'm going to try and do one a week for the next three weeks and see how I get on.
